Alterations are an important step in achieving the perfect fit for your wedding gown or quinceañera dress.

Alterations are provided on-site as a service for our customers only. Our talented seamstress has over 35 years of experience in bridal alterations & customizations and will make you look and feel great on your big day!

Custom requests such as dress reconstruction or building sleeves, will incur additional fees.

We also offer accessories such as a bridal hoop skirts, bras, cups and more to complete your look.

Your first fitting should be between 5-8 weeks  before the event date.  Your pick-up appointment is scheduled according to your event date, usually 2/3 weeks before.

1ST FITTING

You MUST bring your day-of shoes & any undergarments you plan on wearing the day of the wedding. we will need to reschedule you if you do not have the correct shoes.

FINAL PICKUP FITTING

Final pickup fittings are scheduled two to three weeks before the wedding date.  Your dress will be completely finished at your final pickup fitting.  You will try on your dress one last time with us to ensure it is fitting you correctly.  If any small adjustments need to be made, we can typically finish those while you wait.  If there is any adjustment needed that requires more work, we can schedule another fitting at your convenience. We will also instruct you how to properly get you day-of ready and bustle up your dress, so please try and bring a friend or family member who will be there the day of your wedding.

1st. Fitting

8-12 weeks before your first fitting you will receive an email or text from Debbie’s Bridal that it’s time to schedule your first fitting.

During your fitting, you’ll first try on your wedding dress. Remember, your dress was ordered according to the largest measurement (between hips, bust and waist) therefore it will likely NOT fit properly right away. At the first appointment we’ll pin the dress in all of the right places so our seamstresses will start customizing your dress to your body!

What to Expect: This appointment will take about an hour. Keep in mind that’s about an hour of standing in your dress and shoes while it’s being pinned by a seamstress. So please be prepared.  Many brides insist on coming to their fitting on an empty stomach—we DO NOT advise this.

At the end of your first fitting, you should be prepared to book your second fitting appointment. Your fitter will suggest some dates and you should also have a few dates in mind.

Pro Tip from Alterations Manager Tina: “Be patient with the process. We find that brides tend to overthink between the first and second fitting. Debbie’s Bridal alterations staff is sort of like having your own Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother. But unfortunately, alterations take a little longer than a point of a magic wand,”
