FAQ

Q: Do I need an appointment to shop in your boutique?

A: Yes. We are by appointment so that we can provide each of our clients with our undivided attention. The majority of what we sell is special order, and many items can be customized. Working with a dedicated associate allows you to be educated on all of your options, as well as all of the unique services that the boutique has to offer.

Q: How far in advance do I need to buy my gown?

A: We would recommend 6 to 9 months prior to your wedding is the ideal time to purchase your bridal gown. This gives you plenty of time to choose the look and feel of your gown and helps you set the overall style of your wedding. In the event, that you need to work to a tighter timeframe we will do all that we can to accommodate you. Debbie’s Bridal offers the option of a rush order or you may also be able to purchase a sample gown.

Q: What do I need to bring to my appointment?

A: Pictures of gowns that best describe your vision and style that most interests you. We also encourage our brides to be open to try on styles recommended by Debbie’s Bridal stylists. Over the years we’ve developed an eye for what works. You may be pleasantly surprised if you do!

Q: Will you have my size gowns available for me to try on?

A: The majority of our inventory consists of size 8 to 16 sample wedding gowns. However, Debbie’s Bridal is very proud to have a broad selection of sample gowns ranging in size from 2-28. Browse our sample dress category and create a wish list of dresses you wish to try-on in-store or try-at home.

Q: How do I pay for my gown?

A: An initial deposit of 30% will secure the order and the remaining balance will be due upon 7 days before your 1st fitting appointment.

A: Highly skilled Debbie’s Bridal couture seamstresses conduct fittings within 2 months of your wedding day. Monday - Friday are designated as fitting days to ensure personal privacy and attention.

Q: When shall I schedule my first fitting?

A: As soon as your gown arrives you will be notified by a Debbie’s Bridal Stylist and depending on your timeline of your wedding day you may schedule your fitting at your earliest convenience within 60 days of your wear date.

Q: What do I need to bring with me?

A: The most important item to bring with you is your shoes, as we need to determine the best hemline length for your gown. You may also want to bring undergarments that you intend to wear.

Q: How many fittings are necessary?

A: On average 1 to 3 fittings is the usual number that is necessary for our brides. If structural changes or modifications are needed additional visits may be required to achieve the perfect look and feel. Each gown and body require different levels of attention.

Q: Do you offer in-house alterations?

A: We have two seamstresses that perform fittings in our store for our brides. Our alteration services are a la carte, so we charge for what needs to be done to the gown. We would be happy to provide you with an average price range and a complimentary quote for our services once you have been measured for your gown. Our seamstresses are bridal specialists, so we reserve their talents and craft to perfect our wedding gowns. We can only accommodate a certain number of bridal alterations per month. It is best to purchase your wedding gown a minimum of 9 months in advance of your wedding if you want to take advantage of our in-house alterations service. When you purchase your gown, you are automatically added to our alterations que.

Q: What is a Trunk Show, and what is the advantage of purchasing your gown at one?

A: A Trunk Show is when a designer sends in an extended version of their collection. There is frequently a special offer that is provided during the event as an incentive to buy. Very often, the designer or a company representative is present at the trunk show, which allows you to fully experience the nuances and beauty of the collection.
